This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach ART at an inner city location. I see over 500 students a week and each student deserves a well stocked classroom and a variety of materials to better explore their world and learn about life through the arts! As 100% free lunch district, resources are always extremely limited. My yearly budget is $2.00 per student which makes it very difficult to provide students with interesting, engaging and creative projects. Multiple times over the year I purchase supplies out of my own pocket to provide students with new experiences but these projects would help me to reach all students. Just this year alone I hosted a gallery walk where each students' artwork was on display. Over 500 original masterpieces lined our hallways. From Van Gogh to Picasso to Romero Britto, artists from all walks of life were represented and showcased.

There are no better students than my own.

I have seen them grow over the past 4 years. I start with them in 9th and teach them until they reach 12th grade. The relationship we create and maintain is one of the main reasons I continue to give my all in an inner city district!

My Project

There really are no limits to how much my students will benefit from having a fully functional laser printer in our classroom because it is used for everything! My students will directly benefit from this laser printer because when they are introduced to projects they will be able to use the printer to have access to examples and artwork that they will be able to use right at their art tables. Students do not have direct access to printing images currently and with this color laser printer it will allow ALL work that students do in the classroom to be AMAZING and will foster current learning opportunities in the classroom.

The need for a working printer in the classroom is a crucial necessity for every teacher and student on a daily basis in 2019.

My students simply do not have access to the technology they should without a laser printer that can sync with the current technology in classroom. The laser printer will allow myself, students and any additional teachers to provide students with access to printed art related resources and content that make learning more academically challenged. We need your help to make this Laser Printastic dream come true!
