My Project

Laser pointers help instructors teach the refraction of light. Using Snell's Law students can see how light bends as it travels from one transparent media to another. Using protractors students can measure the angle of refraction and calculate the index of refraction of glass or plastic. This is relevant to students everyday life because when we see a straw through a glass of water, the straw can be magnified or out of place. This is due to refraction.

This is a wonderful lab and it should be a part of every high school Physics curricula.
