In Kindergarten we focus on masters of art each week. In the upcoming weeks, we will be focusing on the art masters that specialize in up-close art. We are asking for large format construction paper (24x36) to make these larger-than-life still-life flower abstract arts. We are also asking for a paper storage unit to store these massive paper sheets in while we are not using them to keep them neat and organized. As we work through our art and pass along the materials to 3 different classrooms we also need a way to store and keep all the art while the materials are traveling.
Creating larger-than-life floral works of art inspired by Georgia O'Keefe to hang in our hallways inspires artists in our buildings.
As spring slowly approaches we will study different flowers and how Georgia O'Keefe painted up close likenesses to represent nature. In Kindergarten, we often struggle as well to organize materials and make students independent when using these materials. The paper organizer will help us organize and keep our huge pieces of paper but also will help us organize by class the works of art when they are completed. It will provide a safe and spaced-out area for the works of art to dry while we complete them. The poster sized construction papers will be utilized by each kindergarten classroom to create their interpretation of Georgia O'Keefe's still life artworks.
