My Students

Our class is full of a variety of kiddos that strive for excellence. They have adapted well to our flexible seating and have grown to independent learners. They enjoy learning, collaborating, and researching on topics of their choosing that they are passionate about to then relay that information to their peers during their Genius Hour. They are from various socioeconomic statuses as well as varied home languages and come together to create a unique learning environment that thrives on kindness and a hunger for knowledge.

My Project

Our classroom needs laptops to help improve our students-centered learning philosophy. We currently share 26 ancient and sometimes non-working computers with another classroom and rarely get lab time. We love choosing our own learning path and researching things that we care deeply about in our Genius Hour and struggle doing so with the current set up. These laptops will better help us guide our learning and become better agents of our learning. Not only in our Genius Hour, but in ELA and Math, our teacher will be better able to center our learning around where we are academically and help us stretch and grow where we need to!
