This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in an SEI classroom in East Boston. All of my students are English Language Learners with an ELD level 1-3. In order for my students to become fluent English speakers and readers they need to have a strong foundation in phonics skills.

In order to help my students become successful learners they could each use a set of chromebooks to support them in Lexia, a computer based phonics program.

This way they could work individually at their own pace.

My Project

My students are all English language learners and they need a lot of support in learning the language. In order for my students to become fluent English readers and speakers they need a strong base in phonics skills.

We use a program called Lexia, which is a computer based phonics program.

As of now we don't have access to computers on a daily basis. We are asking for chromebooks, headphones, and mouse pads.

The donations for this project would allow my students to use technology on a daily basis. They would be able to practice their phonics skills at their own pace which will lead them to become successful readers.
