Laptops for Learning Language and More!

Help me give my students new laptops with longer lasting batteries. Our current laptops have been used for several years and the battery life is very low preventing them from focusing on their work.

My Project

My Bronx classroom came with a laptop cart, but unfortunately our computers are several years old on their last leg. There are keys missing, batteries barely charging, mice slowly not working, and computers overheating faster. This affects my students’ engagement in literacy programs, research, and other key 21st century literacy skills that enhance their language acquisition. Going into the next school year, I would like to work towards a new laptop cart so that more time is spent learning and less on switching out devices.

Additionally, many students do not have access to internet at home and the devices they use at school are the only way they can get their work done across subject areas.

Having access to new devices would help bridge the digital divide.
