This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are diverse in every way--race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, preferences, and personalities. Each one brings a unique contribution to my classes and never fails to surprise, amaze, and delight me each day. They work together to achieve academic and personal goals.

My students are the stars in my sky.

Every day, they inspire me to be a better teacher and make me smile at their ingenuity, creativity, and unique ways of thinking. In my classroom and beyond, I watch them shine.

My Project

In my school, there is a lack of computers for every student in every class. Currently in my classroom, I don't have enough computers for a class to complete assignments, do research, or work on digital content during class. If I want all of my students working on a project on a computer, this is not possible with fewer computers than students. This additional laptop will give another student the opportunity to work on projects, assignments, and research while in my class. This will greatly add to my students' productivity and ability to complete digital assignments.

All students should be able to use a computer in class when needed.

With so much emphasis on digital learning and assignments, this additional laptop is crucial for my students' continued success. When I want my students to work on digital assignments, I have to schedule a computer lab which is not always easy or convenient, or I have to send my students to other classrooms to complete assignments. When students go to other classrooms, I cannot be there to assist them. This is detrimental to their learning and productivity. Another laptop in my classroom will allow one more student to remain in the classroom with me and his/her peers.

Our society and education is focused on technology and using technology to gain knowledge and refine skills. An additional laptop in my class will allow another student access to technology in my classroom.
