My Kinder classroom is special because it's the place where I know I can successfully mold and prepare little minds for an ever changing future. They're so eager to learn at this age! And that works well for me because at my age, I'm eager to teach and learn from them.
However the 2020- 2021 school year will be different as the classroom will be virtual.
While it provides an opportunity for me to improve my technological skills, I need to create that special classroom virtually. And the Kinders I may not be able to meet for some time deserve the best kid friendly and engaging, virtual classroom possible. Therefore, I am requesting a large screen laptop with a built in camera and microphone. With an up to date laptop, I will be able to download and use Bitmoji, Outlook, Schoology and Microsoft Teams.
My Project
I thought I was a 21st century teacher until I learned my laptop wasn't 21st century compatible. The skills I am learning through daily Professional Developments can only be utilized on a laptop that's especially built for the job.
I need a laptop that allows daily use of Bitmoji, Schoology, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Seesaw and more in my virtual classroom.
Most importantly, I need my scholars to see and hear me clearly on a laptop with built in camera and microphone. I plan to create a virtual classroom with links to my Google classroom, Starfall, Reading A- Z and other educational apps. With the ability to use many educational apps seamlessly, my Kinders will grow academically and virtually until the time when we can learn from each other in person.
