My Students
My students are the youngest grades of our Jr/Sr high school, and they are also the most curious and enthusiastic. Students in my classes are very diverse, both ethnically and socioeconomically. They all work hard and are excited to learn. As middle school students in a big 6th-12th grade school, my students are part of a supportive community and family.
Despite the many challenges of distance learning, my students come to class excited to learn math.
My Project
I am requesting a laptop computer to provide the best virtual learning experience for my middle school students. This computer will be used to hold zoom meetings and engage students in breakout rooms and online activities. To ensure that my students have various experiences, I will use the computer to attend professional development webinars and learn new technologies and teaching methods to help facilitate learning. I will communicate with my colleagues and practice the strategies learned in my Zoom classes. As a teacher, I am constantly looking to improve my practices and learning new things so I can share with my students. Students will benefit from the computer because they will have access to any learning materials such as PDFs, videos, PowerPoints, and more. This will improve their achievement by providing access to different types of resources that can be revisited anytime they need it.
This project will let me build strong connections with my students and their families.
Since the computer is portable, I will be able to check in with students and families, provide resources and feedback, and differentiate instruction to meet my students needs from anywhere.
