I teach an Introduction to Digital Technology Class and I have about 150 students that I see on a daily base. My students come from all over the world. I have many cultures, ethnic and races of students. Many of my students are considered Special Education, I have some struggling students and I have some gifted students. The most challenging students are the one with limited English. I use a buddy system to help the students learn and feel a part of our class. My class is a project-based learning environment. I have used Code.org and other programs to help with my advanced students. I need to keep learning so that my students get exposed to the very best on the market. I teach at a New Title I school that buses students from all over the county so I have a challenge of exposing the students to trends in technology. I would like to create labs for my students and help them with on hands learning in technology.
I need a laptop to use when I attend professional development workshops. A laptop would allow my students to take virtual field trips. A laptop would allow interactive learning lessons.
A laptop for classroom viewing and interactive lesson for skill building.
Discovery Education provides the lessons for careers to be explored, a classroom of students would benefit from the Laptop being used to project the site to my students.
NEH provides interactive learning sites for students and a laptop would help in allowing sites to open and project to the class.
A laptop for group learning as a class the teacher will use the laptop only and the book, Becoming, will be used as a tool for lesson creation materials.
