This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not." - Dr. Seuss Together we have an opportunity to open the world of technology and an interactive education for my students! Technology is a very powerful teaching and learning tool.

My students live in the heart of the inner city.

They are faced with many challenges every day. For many of my kindergarten students this will be their first school experience. Many of my students come to school with limited English proficiency or are ESL students. My students are eager to learn, highly motivated, and energetic. They are between the ages of 5 and 6 years old. My students attend a public school in a very needy area of the city. Having a strong literacy impact on my students is crucial. Reading and literacy education is very important for their futures. My students are very excited to use the student computers in the classroom. I know they will love being able to use our interactive HD TV. We are missing the critical piece....the laptop!

My Project

My classroom already has an HD TV. We are missing the crucial piece needed to make our TV interactive, able to project games, and able to project information from the Internet....the laptop! If my students could have this laptop it would change their education. We would be able to incorporate interactive games. We would be able to see different educational websites as a whole group. My students are always fascinated by any computers and any technology I can incorporate into a lesson. This project would take technology to another level for my students. This laptop would expand our whole group lessons. During center time students would be able to play the educational literacy games. They will learn how to share and work together to play the fun and exciting games. These games will help them learn many skills such as letter names, sounds, rhyming words, word families, and syllables...just to name a few!

Donating to this project will help to spark some technological and literacy excitement in young students!
