This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a second-grade teacher at a wonderful Title I school in the New York City. I have been teaching in this wonderful school for twenty-six years. The students will benefit from a laptop that can work properly with a promethean board. I use the promethean board on a daily basis for SEL read aloud for go noodle used to calm my students down, for our math visual learning lessons, for our interactive student books. Having a new, improved laptop will help me teach my students without a glitch or network, and technical issues because I have a old device that constantly needs upgrading.
I feel blessed to teach these young curious minds but at times overwhelmed with the difficulties presented to me such as not having a working laptop on a daily basis.
This laptop will help me in connecting, teaching, and providing social-emotional support to my students in their learning. Our school is big on Social Emotional Learning. I will be able to use the laptop along with my promethean board to present videos with read aloud based on SEL books, movies, and have kids complete activities. Having a new laptop that can actually work well with the promethean board will allow me to provide better quality lessons to my students.
