Language/Math Activities And Visuals

My students need color ink and Velcro so I can create file folder games, visuals, behavioral supports, picture schedules, and social stories.

My Students

Please help me get color ink and Velcro, so I can create file folder games, visuals, behavioral supports, picture schedules, and social stories for my special-education students who are visual learners.

My students are in Kindergarten through second grade.

I teach a mild/moderate Special Education Class of eleven students in my classroom. My students need color ink and Velcro for me to create visual activities such as file folder games to help them learn reading and math. File folder games with colorful visual pictures help my students with learning and communication. The layout of file folder games matches the patterns and routines to which my students respond positively. Also, the color ink will help me create visuals, behavioral supports, picture schedules, and social stories.

My Project

If I had color ink and Velcro, I would be able to create visuals, social stories, and file folder games for my special education students. The visuals, picture schedules, and behavioral supports will help them learn classroom routines, rules and expectations. They can use the visuals as a form of communication. The social stories will help them learn social skills. The file folder games will be used to teach reading and math concepts such as patterns, consonant sounds, counting money, number recognition, one-to-one correspondence, ordering numerals, alphabets, phonics, sight words, and word families. I could also create thematic file folder games to teach science (plant life cycles, seasons, food groups) and social studies (travel, transportation, holidays.)

My students need color ink and Velcro, so I can create file folder games, visuals, picture schedules, behavioral supports, and social stories that will help them learn and communicate in the classroom.
