Language Through Art!
My students need paint, paint palettes, paintbrushes, scissors, glue and a drying rack to express our creative talent.
Language is difficult for us due to autism and other learning challenges, but we can express ourselves through ART!
We attend a public elementary school in a high poverty area.
Most of us are English learners. It can be hard to get the supplies we need due to budget shortfalls. In addition, most of us do not have the opportunity outside of school to participate in art classes.
We are requesting art supplies that will allow our artistic talents to shine! We need paint, paint palettes, paintbrushes, scissors, glue, glitter, a construction paper holder and a drying rack for our finished products. With the Disney CREATE grant we will be able to complete art projects based around our Common Core Standards units for the year. Additionally, we can invite our families into the classroom to participate in projects with us during our school's monthly family events.
This project will allow us to develop our love of art and creativity that we will carry with us throughout our lives.
It will get us excited about art which will increase our language as we talk about the beautiful works of art we create! We deeply thank you for donating to special needs art education!
