My Project
I work at a title 1 school and often the students I work with are limited in their background experiences and support. There are several students that struggle to have the desire to come to school. I like to make the classroom a place that the students feel safe and want to come every day. By decorating the room to fit our learning theme and providing themed materials for the students to earn and use it helps get the students excited about coming to school and learning.
We will be doing a unit on Treasure Island within our new Language Arts program, and I need a variety of books and other pirate themed items in order to keep the students engaged and to help make the learning come to life.
At the end of the unit, we will have a pirate themed party to celebrate our learning.
