Help me give my students exposure to the variety of vocabulary that they don't typically see and hear in everyday life to make them strong communicators. Wobble cushions and sensory tools will help them engage and focus.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This project is filled with materials to engage students in learning from a variety of vocabulary themes to enhance their language and literacy skills.
The themes will build off what some students don't get to experience in life and what they are learning in the classroom.
High-interest themes (e.g., robots and dragons), as well as less common ones (e.g., fairytales and community helpers), were chosen. These items combined with seating/sensory tools will provide sensory stability to help them focus and engage.
The project will provide exposure to vocabulary and literacy tools for students from low-income homes that they normally don't get and can only come from their school experience.
