This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are all English Language Learners that will blossom in an inviting environment where collaboration will be key. Imagine learning a second language and mastering essential academic skills all at once! Quite a few will also experience the school setting for the first time! My students will be facing these challenges!

Our school is located in an inner city setting where all students receive free breakfast and lunch.

Resources are limited but this does not impede their desire to learn and accomplish the goals set before them!

My Project

My English learners need to continue building their confidence as they are learning a second language and these language activities centers will definitely assist this journey! Students will have the opportunity to use the materials on a daily basis during their small group instruction and in their independent centers. They will be able to hold purposeful discussions as they hold real objects, observe photographs, and work together as they complete the language activity centers.

As my students gain additional words and meaning, they will apply this information in their daily conversations and in the learning environment.

Students will gain comprehension as they read and write. These materials will support their transition into acquiring the English language.
