Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our city has welcomed numerous families from South American countries, and although I'm learning Spanish as fast as I can the older students are harder for me to translate for.
This Pocketalk device would allow students to speak to me in their language and translate both for me and also for them while I'm giving instruction in English.
As someone who is learning Spanish, I often have to ask them to repeat themselves, which can be frustrating for young learners. I'm hoping to bridge the gap in our communication, and this device can support that process.
The protective case and screen cover are to help maintain the device as it is an elementary and early childhood classroom as well.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
