This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach a wonderful group of kindergarten and first grade students with special needs. Our school is Title I and located in a low socioeconomic community with limited resources, where 100% of the students receive free school lunch and are classified as English language learners. Students in my classroom are students with special needs like autism, specific learning disabilities, dyslexia and several other disabilities. Despite these setbacks all my students are always motivated to learn and ready to improve every day.
My Project
All of my students deserve to learn in different modalities to make the most of their learning. This laminator machine will provide 'just that' for my kindergarten/first grade students! I will use the laminator and the pouches to create activities for math and reading centers.
The lamination activities created for my students will last a long time and can be used for future students.
Students will be able to use the centers throughout the year and not have to worry about them ripping or falling apart. Lamination adds protection against fingerprints and smudges, stains and spills, tears and wrinkles, marks and abrasions, dirt, moisture and other contaminants.
