Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach Spanish to high school students. They are so eager and excited to learn a new language and to be able to put it into practice in their community and with their friends.

I teach in an inner city school and most of my students are African-American or Hispanic.

All of my students come from disadvantaged backgrounds and receive free lunch. There is a lot of gang violence and crime in the surrounding neighborhoods, but my students are motivated to learn. They are eager to master a new language!

My Project

My students often create amazing artistic pieces depicting their newly acquired vocabulary and grammar in Spanish. I want to put up all of their great work so that everyone can see it when they come into our classroom.

Without laminating my students' work, it is nearly impossible to save it in good condition after putting it up on the bulletin boards.

If we can laminate it, we can put it up around the classroom with damaging it and then my students can keep it for years to come! We can then create a label for their name. The laminator and laminating pouches will help to preserve the excellent work that my students create in our classroom and while filling the students with pride in their work!
