Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Help my students find their voices by using a laminator by creating manipulatives and content-rich multilingual resources. This will also help in creating socio-cultural competence for our teachers in the classroom in order to differentiate the material they are using. It is part of the pillar of bilingual education which also encompasses biliteracy and high academic achievement.
While socio-cultural competence cannot be assessed like the other pillars, it is crucial in creating more engaged global citizens in and out of the classroom.
By providing a classroom laminator, with pouches and plastic clipboards, students will have manipulatives they can re-use and take home to hone in on their language acquisition
