Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
It is an honor this academic year to have young scholars who are eager and determined to learn. The school is classified as a Title I school. Therefore, scholars and families lack basic essentials. Many of the scholars in my classroom have recently arrived from their native countries. The scholars' native countries consist of the following: Bangladesh, Lebanon, China, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Senegal.
The classes I facilitate instruction are categorized as English as a New Language and Special Education.
In addition, the scholars are deficient in foundation skills (e.g. addition, subtraction, etc.). Many of my scholars have not had the opportunity to attend elementary school in their native countries. The scholars’ academic deficits are in the following subjects: Language, Reading, Writing, and Math.
However, despite the scholars' academic deficits, they are enthusiastic and strive to learn. I am dedicated to supporting scholars and families by providing school supplies (e.g. notebooks, pencils, and book bags).
Finally, I support the scholars to develop self-confidence, independence and thrive to succeed academically and socially.
My Project
Scholars need a laminating machine for the classroom to laminate and protect reading comprehension, inference, main Idea, point of view and text features task cards.
In addition, the laminating machine is needed to cover and protect visual aid with vocabulary words.
Scholars also need laminating pouches to cover and protect the academic resources and materials.
In addition, scholars need a file cabinet and folders to file their assignments, assessments, and other important resources that are part of their academic portfolios.
Scholars also need ink cartridges to print bright and colorful visual aid, vocabulary words, task cards, assignments and much more...
Finally, scholars desperately need all the materials.
