My Project

A lot of activities in the classroom cannot be reused because once the students have written on them, they must be discarded. We use reading-based escape rooms and decoder activities frequently, which means I go through a lot of paper and ink making copies.

With the ability to laminate all of the activities, students can use dry-erase markers to complete the activity and then they will be able to clean them for use at another time.

I started this with an Edgar Allan Poe escape room over the Tell-Tale Heart. The first class completed the escape room, and all of the materials had to be thrown away after use. I laminated a second copy and was able to use it for the remaining classes without waste, and will be able to use it again next year. This will significantly cut down on the amount of paper and ink being used to make copies of these activities over and over again.
