I am starting a new adventure. My life-long dream has been to teach Kindergarten and this year I get to live that dream. We will become a family from the first time that my students step into the classroom. My past students have known me as "Momma Bear". They know that I won't let anyone mess with my cubs and I will do everything in my power for them. I can't wait to meet my new cubs and introduce them to the magic that will happen this year !
As my students will come to me with a widely-varied background of learning and life experiences, I need to be prepared to provide them with a rich educational experience in a safe and loving environment that will allow them to grow and learn, free of worry in the classroom.
We are over 60% free and reduced-price lunch in my district. Often, families struggle to buy school supplies. We, as teachers often supply a great deal of what you see in classrooms. Together we can work together to get the things that our students need for success. Your partnership allows us opportunities that would otherwise not be available. Thank you!
My Project
The kindergarten students at our school absolutely love when we can incorporate our interactive Smartboard into a lesson, center, transition, etc.
We are constantly looking for fun and engaging activities for the students to participate in and have found that when they are at the Smartboard station they are having fun, are engaged, working on skills at their level, and practicing working with a group.
Lakeshore Learning offers many interactive games covering a wide variety of skills. The games that we are requesting are covering skills that we seem to need a little extra practice in. The game Bubble Pop will cover addition and subtraction for students that are below, at, and above grade level. Listen and Follow Directions activity will allow the children to practice a crucial skill of sequencing while practicing their listening skills. The last two games are for word building and rhyming- both skills that we practice all school year. These activities will be used in both large and small groups and because we are asking for a license of 5, these games will be shared with all of our kindergarteners which is approximately 80 students.
The storage bins will help to hold the games and keep them organized.
