LAJHS, Pull Up a Seat! (Grants 4 Great Ideas!)

Help me give my students some stools for our new Makerspace to allow a safe, inviting place to explore, create, build, and collaborate in the Media Center.

My Project

LAJHS students are excited about visiting our Media Center. The Media Center serves as a hub for research, reading challenges, a quiet work space, and a classroom for core curriculum. Our school is in the early years of a new STEAM program which pulls students from all over the area with interest in advanced learning. To add to this program, the Media Center wishes to create a makerspace that will extend learning and give opportunities for collaboration.

Our new makerspace will require seating for students to engage with Makey Makey circuits, LEGO/ Keva Plank/magna tile building, origami projects, Rubiks Cube art, Sphero coding, and more!

These extended learning activities will increase student interest in STEM careers. With your help, ALL students will be offered the chance to practice critical thinking, develop problem-solving tools, and learn a wide range of 21st century skills while having a blast in this new innovation station. Year after year, this table and its activities will serve the students of LAJHS.
