This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our basketball teams are made up of 9th-12th grade students.

They are such hard-workers on and off the court!

Almost all of our student-athletes receive free/reduced-price lunch. Many of them have been playing basketball almost their whole lives, but some are brand new to the sport and excited to be a part of our team this year.

Our school is lucky enough to offer a variety of sports and the Junior Varsity and Varsity levels for both boys and girls.

My Project

Donations to this project will provide every girls basketball player with their very own 32 oz squeeze water bottle. Our team is plagued by cramping and dehydration throughout the season. Disposable water bottles are for sale at our school, and can be purchased at lunch or after school, but oftentimes this is too late and they are already dehydrated- not to mention they are wasting money and hurting the environment with the purchase.

Water bottles for each student-athlete will provide constant access to water, increase water consumption and help maintain hydration throughout the day so they can give it their all on the court, and allow them to get quick water breaks throughout practices and games.
