My Project

Science class should be a place where students get to ask questions, find answers, and get hands-on learning. I have noticed that due to the lack of in-person learning due to COVID-19, students have missed out on the joy of science and the joy of doing experiments, labs, and investigations in the classroom while collaborating with a partner or group. My goal is to reignite the joy of science class by using hands-on materials for students to use to learn or reinforce the concepts being taught in the classroom. Some of the kits I have requested are STEM kits on matter and chemistry so students can learn through hands-on investigations.

I would love to be able to supply my classes with those opportunities to ask questions, jump in with a lab or investigation in order to answer those questions, and to be able to work with a group to answer questions.

The pandemic created a lack of group projects which not only teaches science concepts but also teaches the students how to work collaboratively with another person or with a group. The more opportunities I can give my students to work with a group with a goal in mind will only reinforce those skills they need in the future to be able to work collaboratively with others.
