Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

We are an innovation school this year. This means that our school has been given a chance to provide even more meaningful opportunities to the students in our boundaries. Students at my school receive free and reduced lunch. I have a classroom of fourth grade students that range in all different ability levels. Our school is also a Project Restore School. Each week students take math tests and are also assessed on reading skills. Both are cumulative and rigorous, which means skills can not be forgotten and are always practiced.

My Project

In a classroom with over thirty students, it is hard to keep your things separate from others. That is why everything has to have each student's name. Writing names on five things for each student can be very tiring and time consuming.

Having a label maker and labels will make it easy to keep track of each students' belongings.

Being able to cover up old labels when new students arrive will save time, energy, and eliminate waste! No more trying to decipher messy handwriting because the labels will be easily read. Students will be organized because they will know which book or folder belongs to them. Time won't be wasted and instructional time will increase!
