This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember those days when you were looking through your desk at school and couldn't find what you needed? What a waste of time! I am looking to save time by organizing our materials so that they are quicker to find and instructional time is not wasted.
I'm an first grade teacher in Arizona.
My class consists of 27 children that are eager to learn. All my students are learning English. This is not an easy task to take on. This requires so much hard work and diligence. Even though my kids have that obstacle, they never stop trying their best. In fact, they request to stay after school to keep on working!
My Project
I am requesting labels for multiple reasons. At the beginning of the year I like to label all my students' notebooks, journals, folders etc. with each child's name and the subject. My students will have desks next year and I know from experience that we lose so much valuable time searching in desks when we could be working and learning. I will be using the large colorful labels to help us find our materials quickly.
My first graders often lose notes in their backpacks. I have started writing notes on labels and sticking them onto shirts or backpacks to help parents see important messages right away. The smaller labels will be used to send messages home to parents. These smaller labels will also be used to write journal prompts and math prompts to use during writing and math lessons.
I am also requesting various sized labels to create individualized stickers for my kids. These stickers are used as motivators to keep working towards our goals each day.
First I would like to thank you in advance for reading about my students!
By funding this project you will help us stay organized while helping us keep parents informed about what is happening in school. Thank you for considering our project!
