This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are very inquisitive. They enjoy discovering new things and sharing their experiences with one another. While many of our students come from surrounding neighborhoods, we have many students who come from various countries around the world. These children bring their cultures together and love to learn from each other.
Outside of language, our students have many other barriers they need to cross to develop and build their skills and share their experiences with one another.
Hands-on, inquiry based learning is one way they can create a common bond over learning.
My Project
My fifth and sixth grade students are coming to a science lab for the first time, but it is full of mismatched reading and computer tables. I am looking to fill our science lab with chemical resistant lab tables.
Safety first, my students will be working with various chemicals this year in their study of chemical properties and there is bound to be some spills.
Lab tables are made to resist these spills and make clean up safer and easier. The lab tables will give the students an overall science lab experience and have them better prepared for middle school.
