Thank you so much for reading my proposal. I am an 8th grade science teacher at Meadowlark Middle School in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. I believe that students should be immersed in science and as such, I use a lot of labs and group activities to give students a very tactile experience. Right now my students are forced to rely on slanted-top desks as their lab tables, which make activities and labs very difficult and sometimes dangerous. Science equipment and measurement devices are close to impossible to use on a slanted surface and have a tendency to slide off the desk causing a safety concern. I am asking for a donation of lab tables to allow my students a chance to receive the kind of quality education they deserve. I require 14 tables but even one would make a huge improvement to the classroom environment. This donation will be used by my 150+ students this year, and for many years to come. Thank you in advance for your help and consideration. I look forward to speaking with you in person, and inviting you into my classroom to show you what a difference your donation has made to the kind of education my students are receiving.
