Within my classroom, the COVID-19 virus has forever changed how my students learn. This is year three of learning during a pandemic for my students. They have overcome distance learning, and they are learning in person again this school year. Lab safety is critical, and trying to keep them safe and germ-free can be very stressful for both my students and me. As their teacher, I want to be able to ease the stressors my “junior scientists” experience by awarding special incentives.
The snacks and beverages listed within this project will be used to give my students lab snacks.
Items will be packed into Ziplock bags and Purell wipes will be added to ensure student items are sanitized, safe, and germ-free. This assists me with easing some anxieties my students have this school year. This also makes learning fun again. Within each class period, my students will receive “lab snacks” on Fridays to assist in decreasing their weekend hunger pains. Continuing this initiative allows my students to experience joy within the classroom and helps to boost morale.
