Lab Coats for Science Lab Safety and Professionalism

My Project

I am the only science teacher at a Title I elementary school in Oakland, California. I have 400 students from TK through 5th grade and they love hands-on science.

If my students had lab coats, they would be safe, feel like professionals and hopefully act like professionals too.

When you dress good, you feel good, and my students deserve to feel good.

With this project, each student will be able to wear a lab coat during our investigations and laboratory experiments. Not only will the lab coats keep the students safe, they will give my students a professional feel, that they will hopefully emulate.
