Lab Coats for Our Little Scientists

My students need lab coats and goggles for our science lab on Fridays. We are working hard to bring a STEM environment to Kindergarten.

My Students

We love being scientists! We need lab coats and goggles to help us as we explore science through experiments and engineering.

My school's demographics are as follows: White 64%, Black 23%, Hispanic 8%, and two or more races 4%.

We are also 40% free and reduced lunch. We are the only elementary school south of 278 (the "divide" in our county) that isn't a Title I school. My classroom is full of students who love to learn!

My Project

We need lab coats and goggles to help us as we explore science through experiments and engineering. We will use the goggles to stay safe through multiple STEM activities and experiments. We are working on become scientist by teaching students to communicate and collaborate.

Students will learn how to ask and answer questions to solve problems, brainstorm to choose the best way to solve their problem, plan a solution by listing materials, drawing diagrams, and sharing ideas, they will also create and follow their plan, then improve on their plan.

The lab coats and goggles will help them in doing all these things and become a better learner and thinker.
