My Project

My fifth grade students love science. They enjoy exploring with real science equipment and dressing in the gear that scientists wear. I love to see their excitement when they get dressed for a science investigation. Unfortunately, our disposable lab coats became so worn we had to throw them away. The kids were very sad to see them go. They told me they felt like real scientists and learning was much more fun when they wore the lab coats, even with the rips and tears.

I need your help to make it possible for my students to continue to love dressing like real scientists.

I asked the students if the lab coats really made a difference and they unanimously said yes. A student told me that dressing in a lab coat and goggles helped him to get his mind ready to learn. Another student told me dressing like a scientist helped her stay focused on her work and kept her from being so hyper.

My goal is for all my students to love to learn and to develop habits that help them learn. I have noticed a difference in their behavior and focus when they wore lab coats and when they did not. I would like to have a cloth lab coat for each student to have their own to use. Your help to provide them will be appreciated by all my students and me! Thank you in advance for supporting the learning of my students.
