This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are ready to dive into hands-on activities! My students are eager and curious learners. We have hands-on activities for each of the academic learning targets as we are working our way to mastery level for eighth grade science. We do it in many ways: problem solve, write/talk about it using the translanguaging approach, hands-on activities, work in teams and self-monitor our progress using our science notebooks.

We would like to have lab supplies for hands-on activities such as the lab aprons and gloves which are reusable for all students to enjoy using.

These supplies will ensure equal access to all students in all classes to conduct the investigations themselves and not just demonstrations. This will truly enhance the students' science and engineering skills. More importantly, students are getting the chance of practicing twenty-first century skills of being problem solvers, critical thinkers and doers in the classroom.
