My Project

Currently, our classroom does not have the ability to print anything in color. Our classroom has multiple grade levels: a first grader and two fourth graders. Even though they are in the first and fourth grades, they are special needs students. Due to their needs in academic areas, I have to print appropriate materials, and most of the materials are in color.

The goal of this project is to provide a means to print off appropriate materials for my students to communicate, generalize, and learn.

I have nonverbal students who use the PECS system to communicate. The cards that they use are in color, and since my students are Autistic, we try, if at all possible, to take pictures of real objects to help them generalize. The real pictures that we use are in color as well. Being able to have access to a color printer to print the PECS caards, real object cards, and appropriate learning materials is essential.

If we were able to fund this project and purchase the printer and refill toners, we would be able to print the PECS cards and real objects to help our students communicate and generalize. I am requesting replacement toner because the printing done in my classroom uses a lot of color, so we use a lot of toner.

Please consider funding this project so that I can print the resources needed by my students to communicate, generalize, and learn. If we can print in color, my students will benefit in all areas of academics and be able to communicate and generalize. Thank you for your time and conservation in funding this project.
