Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Some students arrive in our classroom with lots of extra energy.
My students are elementary school students who have exceptional learning needs.
Rather than having that energy disrupt class, I would like seating options that allow for more movement in our classroom. The Kore Wobble Chairs are a great option for students who need to move more while learning.
We work hard to differentiate learning to meet their individual learning goals. We are Title 1 public school and could use all the financial support we can get. My students and I are always grateful for support of our classroom needs.
My Project
A major component of this personalized learning model is setting up a classroom environment that attends to many different learning styles. The room and all spaces are shared by every learners with areas identified for the different kinds of learning children may need to access throughout the day. Some area designs may include group work, presentations or demonstrations (by teachers or learners), research, reading, thinking and discussing, and creating and innovating. Wobble chairs are designed to support students with ADHD, because they provide a physical challenge and opportunity to release energy while simultaneously working. However, modifications such as these wobble chairs often benefit all learners, especially with a shared classroom space.
