This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Kona Ice is a food truck serving shaved ice in a variety of tasty flavors!
This project will provide a free Kona Ice for our learners as a reward for positive behaviors (PBIS) and learning about the diversity of others.
We are working on being accepting of others who are different than us in any way. When positive behavior and/or acceptance are noticed, they will earn a trip to get a Kona Ice. We want to recognize all students, regardless of race, gender, or age. This helps continue our financial literacy learning with students in charge of their purchases!
Our morning meeting is focused on SEL (Social Emotional Learning) and PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) to teach expected behaviors for the hallway, classroom, lunchroom, etc. Shaved ice will also be given to students who show this new learning.
Financial literacy will be taught. We can discuss the finances of these treats and how to be smart with your money.
We will also have shaved Kona Ice on field day. It is like a food truck, but a shaved ice truck!
