Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach the most magnificent 7th and 8th grade students at a neighborhood school in Northern California. Our school is 85% free or reduced lunch and in a very low socio-economic area of our city. AVID, Pre-Algebra, and life science are the subjects I bring to life in the classroom everyday and I love every minute of it!

Our school is trying hard to keep up with the technology of today's world. In my classroom I try to bring in technology as much as possible. I finally have access to a projector and we got a classroom computer last year. I want to be able to present lessons, show them the world, engage them, and open up their minds using technology. We have no speakers for them to hear my presentations with.

I have great power points and now access to a computer in the classroom but they can't hear the lesson without speakers that are loud enough. My students will experience more and get so much more out of each lesson if I can bring it to them vividly and with technology. Speakers that would allow my students to hear the lessons would enhance the learning environment in my classroom. We just got a class I-Pod to listen to classical music and podcasts on but the class cant listen to that either without speakers!

Help bring my students into the current age of technology. Teaching is my passion and the love of my life, please help me to help my students. I would be able to use these speakers year after year and so many students would benefit.
