Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I serve as a teacher in a low social economic area of South Gate. Most of my students are not able to cooperate with the purchase of the frogs. I want to be able to provide a new classroom experience for my students.
All my students qualify for Title 1.
That means that all my students qualify for free meals. I would like for them to experience something that is not available to them since we have no funds to purchase this project. Some of my students never had the opportunity and will not have the opportunity to experience such a hands on project.
My Project
The frog project is an endeavor students will always remember. They will be exposed to a real hands on project. Most if not all my students have never been challenge with such a hands on project. I believe most of them will come out with a sense of being true scientist.
I want my students to feel they are equal to other students in more affluent schools.
My student have asked me why can't they do more hands on project and I have to answer them that we can't afford it.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
