My Project

These books based on the research behind The Science of Reading will make a difference in how evidence-based instruction is given. I currently work with students in kindergarten through 2nd grade. There is a multimodal approach to early literacy, and having the right tools will help me learn to build the key elements for literacy instruction (vocabulary, phonological and phonemic awareness, phonics, comprehension, fluency, oral language, and listening).

Knowledge is Power!!

With the Science of Reading at the forefront of education, I naturally want to take what I learn from these books and apply it to build strong foundational skills because that is key to success for students to become competent readers. I am always aiming to improve my instructional practices, and these books will teach me ways to successfully teach my students. As Maya Angelou stated, “Do the best you can until you know better. Then, when you know better, do better,' which is the reason behind the want/need of these books. These materials will enable me to do better, which will greatly benefit all the students that I teach.

My heart and passion is to see all these precious students be strong and successful readers. It is not only my obligation but also my honor to teach and reach our future generation by providing the highest quality education.
