My Students
My students come from diverse homes and families. We live in a very small community with extremely limited resources. Children come to school not only for educational opportunities but for nurturing love and care as well.
We are a Title I school with low-achieving students from low-income homes. We strive to give them excellent learning experiences at all age levels as well as other real life experiences that they may not be receiving at home. Giving them hands-on materials is just one of many ways we can do this!
My Project
The books selected are recommended resources in our wonderful reading series. We just adapted the program last year and the students thoroughly enjoyed learning about big topics.
My students deserve the opportunity to immerse themselves in rich cultured literature. These stories from all over the world will help open their minds to many concepts and new vocabulary, as well as give them experience with interesting illustrations and text structures.
Students will have the ability to explore these new books independently, in pairs and in small groups. I will also use them as teaching tools to enrich our Amplify Knowledge lessons when applicable.
