It is challenging to find high interest, relevant, reading materials for high school students with disabilities that look and feel age appropriate.
Scope Magazine subscriptions will provide my students with age appropriate, relevant materials, and increase their level of interest in literature and writing while actively engaged in their speech and language therapy sessions.
These magazines address so many of their language goals such as sequencing, inferencing, using context clues, recall, retell, making predictions, improving vocabulary, all while providing high-interest material. These subscriptions will allow my students screen-free reading materials at their reading level with high interest stories and hopefully will cultivate a life-long love of reading as their skills progress.
