Know Your Water: Understanding What is in Our Water

Help me give my students the ability to study water, its effects on us, and our effects on it. In Arizona water is such a valuable resource we want students to understand it and respect it.

My Project

Covid-19 has made this year difficult for our students. They lost academic ground by the part-time and online schooling during the pandemic. Some concepts are best in person.

This year we are trying to give them more hands-on learning to bridge this gap through labs.

Our current science unit does not have many opportunities for this style of learning. The other 8th-grade science teachers and I would like to provide this for them.

Learning about water, drinking water safety, and water preservation will help us prepare the next generation for the future in case they desire to use water that may come from sources other than their faucets. In addition, it will help them know why we have to be careful with our limited water here in Arizona.
