My Project
The books I am requesting for our Behavior Restoration and Modification class will be used to spark group discussions and reflections on how to modify and restore their own behavior and the effects it has on others.
My goal for this project is to use the books to attend to students' social emotional learning by discussing and reflecting on the character traits taught in each book.
The SEL areas we will cover throughout the year are: Empathy, Coping Skills, Respect, Integrity, Positive Attitude, Perseverance, Conflict Resolution, Peer Pressure, Friendship, Citizenship, and Anti-Bullying. Building a relationship with each of my students is very important for supporting them throughout the school year. These books will help my students and I to get know each other better through restorative discussions.
As my students begin to Know Better, they will be expected to Do Better. Each student has the potential to do great things and to learn to do hard things.
