Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students at my school are always eager to learn and have a great appetite for fitness. Each day they attend physical education class, they are motivated and excited to be active. My motto for my students is "Lazy doesn't live here!" And they prove it with all-out effort.
Getting basic equipment for my students to enjoy games and activities designed to lead healthy lives is my goal.
My students don't have a lot, and would really appreciate basic physical education equipment.
My Project
After Hurricane Irma, the students I work with were caught off guard with the sheer magnitude of this devastating storm. Many students left their homes only to find damage when they returned.
I want to provide the kids in my physical education program the use of brand new equipment like jump ropes, hula hoops, and ball hops to replace the old, tattered, and beat up equipment they have used for years.
The equipment at my school needs replacing but getting the funds is hard to come by. A donation to cover this equipment would be a joy to all my students I teach. Giving them this opportunity to enjoy physical play with new equipment will lead to a sense of renewed vigor when playing in physical education class.
