Knitting Time: Students Learning a New Skill

Help me give my students the opportunity to learn to knit and pearl scarfs, hats, wash clothes, and blankets.

My Project

At my school, I would love to teach students a new textile skill of knitting. Once students have grasped the concepts of knitting and purling, they will then be taught how to read a pattern. Not only will they be building on a relaxing skill of knitting but they will also be able to read step by step instructions.

After they have mastered reading a pattern they will have the skills to make anything such as sweaters, cable knits, color changing patterns.

For more advanced students they will learn to increase and decrease and mock cables.
