My Project
Knitting and Crocheting can be a beneficial activity for children with autism, offering therapeutic benefits like improved focus, concentration, and fine motor skills as well as a calming and meditative effect. The act of holding the yarn and hook, and the feel of the yarn, can provide a calming and tactile experience, which can be beneficial for children with sensory sensitivities. The repetitive nature of crocheting can be meditative and help individuals with autism relax and calm their minds.
Knitting and Crocheting can be powerful therapeutic tools for individuals with autism.
Crocheting can be a form of self-soothing or "stimming" for some Autistic individuals, providing a calming and repetitive activity. Help us to begin with easy patterns and projects that involve basic beginnings and stitches to build confidence and skills. Help provide a calming sensory experience and foster a sense of accomplishment and boost self esteem.
