My Students
My students are sponges; eager to soak up new learning through observation, investigation, questioning, and collaboration! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Their curiosity and inner drives inspire me each and every day!
We refer to one another as "family" and share the same core values of respect, safety, communication, collaboration, and unconditional support as evidenced by our Classroom Charter.
Our school is unique in that our student population is comprised of 70% urban and 30% suburban (7 surrounding towns). We take pride in celebrating our differences and coming together as a caring and collaborative community.
Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies; small group, project-based learning, whole group/guided, one-on-one, and technology-supported to meet the needs of ALL learners. My role is to create opportunities for my third-grade family, inspire, and provide them with the tools necessary to be successful, self-motivated, and independent learners with the belief that they CAN do it!
My Project
This horse-shoe learning table will create a secure space for more individualized instruction and enrichment to occur. It will allow me to have a designated space for math lab investigations as well as conduct guided-reading groups. All learners will feel successful at their level of instruction, which will increase confidence, self-esteem, and allow students to take chances in a smaller setting.
This table will provide me with the space and opportunity to provide individual instruction to meet the needs of ALL learners, empowering them to feel like a Knight of the Round, Reading Table.
